Scottish Festival & Highland Games
August 16, 9am-5pm. Amherst Museum 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road, Amherst. The 24th annual Scottish festival will feature bagpipe bands, highland games, dance demonstration, Scottish food and more. For more information call 716-689-1440 or visit www.amherstmuseum.org

Carly’s Crossing
Saturday August 16 at 7:30 am Gallagher Beach at Buffalo’s Small Boat Harbor
This annual event raises funds for pediatric cancer research at Roswell park Cancer Institute. Hundreds of swimmers will swim one-mile and 600 yard routes in Buffalo’s Inner Harbor. CanAm Invitational Bike Ride,
Sunday August 17. This is a three distance bicycle ride hosted by the Niagara Frontier Bicycle Club. Choose from 35, 62 or 100 mile rides. The two longer rides are in both the US and Canada. Registration includes a t-shirt, snacks and a post ride picnic. For more information see www.nfbc.com

Clarence Hollow Farmers Market, 10717 Main Street (between Ransom and Salt Roads) Saturdays 8am-1pm, June 7 to October 25.

Kenmore Farmer’s Market, Delaware Avenue and Delaware Road, Saturdays 8am to noon.
